Events in Arizona and San Diego Attract 12,000 Walkers

"Team Autism Speaks" Raises Over $160,000 at NYC Marathon
Fifty-three runners from 14 states, Switzerland and Australia competed in the ING NYC Marathon 2008 as part of “Team Autism Speaks,” raising over $160,000 for Autism Speaks. Donations are still being accepted and can be made here. Read more and view photos and video here.
Autism Speaks Appoints Program Director for its Autism Tissue Program
Daniel Lightfoot, Ph.D., joined Autism Speaks this month to manage the activities of the Autism Tissue Program (ATP) – a parent-led brain tissue donation program dedicated to autism research. Read more about the ATP and its new program director here.
"Days of Our Lives" Fan Event Promotes Autism Awareness
NBC's daytime drama “Days of Our Lives” hosted a fan appreciation day, where fans could meet, get autographs from, and take pictures with their favorite stars, including those who are featured in an ongoing storyline about the parents of a child with autism. Autism Speaks also sponsored an informational table and aired its public service announcements. Read more.
