Arizona Walk Raises Over $550,000, Attracts Sports Stars
Seven thousand walkers raised over $550,000 at the Arizona Walk Now for Autism last Sunday, in Tempe, Ariz., which benefited both Autism Speaks and Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC). Honorary walk chair Orlando Hudson (of the Arizona Diamondbacks) surprised the walkers by bringing along a few of his teammates.Read more and view photos here.
Star-Studded Concert to Raise Funds, Awareness
Autism Speaks has been named the official charity of radio station Z100's Jingle Ball 2007 concert, taking place on December 14 at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. The show will feature a star-studded line-up of performers, including Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys and Avril Lavigne. Read more.
"Team Autism Speaks" Completes NYC Marathon
Fifty-five runners from 13 states and Canada competed in the ING NYC Marathon 2007 as part of “Team Autism Speaks,” raising over $190,000 for Autism Speaks.
