Long Island Kick Off Attracts More than 450 Supporters

The 8th Annual Long Island Walk Now for Autism Kick Off Luncheon was a rousing success, attracting more than 450 supporters to the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY this past Monday. New Study Investigates Pesticide Use, Autism Link
|

A recent publication in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives reported a possible connection between pesticide exposure and autism in central California. The study used multiple databases to both identify candidate exposures and analyze the relationship between the exposure and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Read more.

NIH Announces New Autism Grants
|
|
The National Institutes of Health announced the awardees of a new funding mechanism to support autism research, called the Autism Centers for Excellence. The new grants are designed to help researchers at different facilities join together to address a specific question or to allow specialists from different fields at the same location to collaborate on a particular aspect of the disorder. All of the awardees have been closely involved with Autism Speaks, either as members of a funded consortium, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, or a recipient of an Autism Speaks grant.
